(CHICAGO) In the story of Thursday afternoon’s Lake Shore Drive March demanding the resignations of Mayor Emanuel and Police Supt Johnson, Bill Cameron notices one unique performance.
The political theater promoting this march is really something.
The Oscar for Best Performance demanding the resignations of a mayor and police superintendent goes to activist Erick Russell of the Tree of Life Justice League, “This mayor, he is doomsday! He moves the black atomic clock closer to midnight! We will shut down the drive! We will march to Sodom and Gomorrah! We will stop in the place where Rahm Emanuel has built his pagan golden calf and draped it with our TIF dollars while he’s left black people to languish in food deserts as succor for the lack of economic development! We are no longer drinking the Jim Jones Kool Aid being issued out by the mayor and I don’t care about how many Negro preachers and elected officials he sends out to tell us how great it tastes! We will not pick cotton in the field south and west of Wrigleyville! We cannot afford to have a Napoleonic megalomaniac operating on the fifth floor!”
